ADHD ASSESSMENTS

ADHD Pathway:

  1. Referral: All assessments require a referral from your regular HFD GP or Morgan (our Health Improvement Practitioner).
     

  2. Triage & Booking: Once the referral is accepted by our ADHD clinician, Reception will contact you to book your initial 90-minute face-to-face assessment. 
     

  3. Pre-Appointment Requirements:

    • Payment: Full payment for the initial assessment is required in advance to secure your booking. The initial assessment costs $700. 

    • Paperwork: You will be emailed a set of clinical forms (via Novopsych). One of these should ideally be completed by a parent or someone you have known for a long time. Let us know if you are having difficulty completing these as our Health Coach or Health Improvement Practitioner can assist.
       

  4. The Assessment: The initial consultation is 90 minutes. Initially these will be with Dr Torrance Merkle, and our other GPs may also be doing assessments in the near future. 
     

  5. Outcome & Follow-up:

    • If ADHD is confirmed, the clinician will initiate medication (if appropriate) and schedule a 30-minute follow-up appointment in approximately 4 weeks for initial medication review. ADHD follow up appointments are $150 per 30 minute appointment. 

    • If further information or specialist advice is needed, specific next steps will be provided.

    • If ADHD is not diagnosed, alternative possibilities or next steps will be discussed. 

 

Follow-up appointments for ADHD medication review (titration) are booked separately in the clinic stream until you are discharged to your main GP for ongoing care.
